Daniel, a young Uruguayan theater director, returns to his homeland to reconnect with the memory of his mother, an actress who died during the military dictatorship. He gathers a group of amateur actresses to stage The Assembly of Women, the last play his mother starred in. As the production unfolds, Daniel is forced to confront his family’s hidden past and uncover the truth behind a long-buried secret.
